3 Romantic Valentine Dates Around Downtown Salem
Make your Valentine’s Day memorable in Salem with unique events to take your date. Downtown Salem restaurants will have special menus for the romantic holiday, and the Red Lulu will even have a sizzling Latin dance event. You can also sample tons of local chocolates and wine at the annual Salem’s So Sweet Festival. Check out three ways to spend your Valentine’s Day on the North Shore.
- Salem’s So Sweet Festival: The chocolate and wine tasting festival in downtown Salem will actually take place the weekend preceding Valentine’s Day. Get tickets early for the Friday event where you’ll taste wine and chocolates from local restaurants and vendors. Saturday and Sunday, take your date to see the fantastic ice sculptures downtown, too.
- En Amor Latin Dance: On Sunday, February 12, the Salem Jazz and Soul Festival will host a Latin dancing event at Red Lulu Cocina and Tequila Bar. The Event will feature live music from Gilberto Rivera and RumbaNaMa, dance instruction from Greg Coles, a cash bar, and complimentary food from Red Lulu. Get tickets for $70 per couple online.
- Romantic Restaurant Menus: Restaurants around downtown Salem and the Pickering Wharf will have special Valentine’s Day menus and events to romance your date. At the Hawthorne Hotel, you can order special dishes and listen to live piano music February 10-12. The Green Land Cafe will also have a special menu on February 14, a prix fixe menu for $75 per person. The five-course menu will feature an amuse bouche, poached shrimp, quinoa risotto, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and much more. Make your reservations early!
